The rules are very simple:
- Assign arbitrary values to the faces of the dice. Making a list for dice with numerical values will allow for remembering your own arbitrary values in the future. This is less of a requirement if you decide to use story dice or an equivalent symbolized device.
- You must use all of the dice you choose to roll and the elements they represent.
- A separate die may be cast to determine the amount of words, lines, paragraphs, or chapters you will have at your disposal to resolve the tale. This must be determined before writing begins.
- As an optional part of the exercise will be listing the variables for open criticism as to the resolution of the elements.
